Prior to forming Strategic Planning
Group, Inc., and creating The Relaxing Transition To Retirement Program,
David Rourke, director of the program, worked for approximately five
years for a large insurance and investment company. At the end of
1994, he left because he was convinced that before anyone could make
such important decisions about retirement and investments, they had
to know three very important things:
First, if they stopped working, how much income did they need in excess
of fixed monthly pensions, social security, and rental property income?
Second, what rate of return did they then need to obtain on their
investments to produce that supplemental income for the rest of their
lives without running out of money?
And, third, how should they position their investments to produce
that rate of return while taking the least amount of risk and paying
the least amount of income taxes?
Because he believes so strongly that all of this information needs
to be mapped out ahead of time before making decisions, he developed The Relaxing Transition
To Retirement Program to answer these questions.
The program is for people who are either already retired, but frustrated
and lack confidence in their financial affairs, or for people who
are at The Employment Dependency Crossroad, that stage in life
where you wonder if you've saved and accumulated enough money to be
able to stop working and still continue your standard of living.
The goal of the program is to help individuals, in a relaxed environment
free of any sales pressure, make educated decisions based on their
own unique set of facts and priorities.
By going through this process, members of the program can focus on
the things that are really important to them and get the most out
of retirement because they are not bogged down worrying about work
to support their lifestyle.
